ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE GARFIELD MAIN STAGE, presented by BB&T
FRIDAY, MAY 9 7:00pm - COREY CROWDER Corey Crowder is a singer/songwriter, based out of Greenville, SC, whose music can only be described as timeless. Crowder's music captures elements of the 60's and 70's while still maintaining relevance in the modern music world. Corey's label debut will be out on Tooth & Nail/EMI August 5, 2008. 9:00pm - RETROVERTIGO Across the upstate and beyond, crowds are jumping to their feet, dancing in events whenever RetroVertigo hits the stage! Partygoers find this explosive, high-energy cover-band irresistible when they start playing favorites from the 1980’s and more. RetroVertigo taps into its member's history of quality musicianship and showmanship to bring the most colorful music from the 80’s back to life. What makes RetroVertigo stand above other local bands? They’ve taken their stage show to a whole new level. SATURDAY, MAY 10 2:30pm - MARC HIGGINS BAND Formed in the early spring of 2005 in Spartanburg, South Carolina Marc Higgins Band is already becoming an upstate "must hear and see" with other regions soon to follow. Having Toured in support of their 2006 debut CD "Change is Good"; Marc Higgins Band has already made fans out of first time listeners. As a seasoned songwriter, Marc Higgins shows depth and much diversity using tasteful guitar licks, raw harmonica melody and alluring lyrics. 5:00pm -SOUTHERN CRESCENT BAND Southern Crescent is one of the most versatile variety bands in the upstate of South Carolina. Mixing a variety of music including oldies, beach, pop, and rock, the band adjusts their broad song selection to each audience’s particular tastes. 7:00pm - THE HEADLINERS The Headliners are possibly the most requested band in the Southeast. During the years 2006 and 2007, they performed over two hundred nights each year. This six piece group of guys from Hilton Head Island, SC, blend great vocal harmonies with strong musical abilities to create a sound that is very unique. With six vocalists, a horn section to include trumpet, trombone, and saxophone with bass guitar, multi keyboards and drums, the sounds are big and full. Whether your preference is Big Band, the Classic 50's and 60's Rock and Roll, Beach Music, Motown, Disco Hits from the 70's to Hits from the 90's, get ready to dance!! The songs are carefully selected for each performance to make sure that the music fits the occasion. Not many bands are selected to perform dinner music. It seems that they are either too loud or their repertoire just doesn't include music suitable for dinner. When The Headliners perform music during dinner, it is almost like a concert with itself. The tight musical arrangements and soft vocal harmonies are blended together to create a sound so pleasant, whether it be the golden hits from yesterday or contemporary songs from today. Do not be surprised when you find yourself singing along with the great classics performed by The Headliners. 9:45pm - FIREWORKS EXPLOSION!! DICK PLOOF COMMUNITY STAGE, presented by Greer State Bank FRIDAY, MAY 9 6:00pm - THE DROVERS OLD TIME MEDICINE SHOW The Drovers Old Time Medicine Show was officially formed in 1987 and has been playing hard charging hillbilly music with a good dose of country humor ever since. The band started out as a kind of back porch honky tonk band, but over the years with the lineup and instrumentation shifting here and there, has become a bare knuckles bluegrass band with a good dose of country humor. 8:00pm - MARVIN KING AND THE BLUES REVIVAL BAND Dedicated to blues music with a positive message, Blues Revival is simply a jam band with a passion to play. With influences such as The Allman Brothers, Derek Trucks Band, and Government Mule just to name a few. This Greenville, South Carolina based group has many years of recording experience but definitely should be seen live to appreciate the improvisational skill and true Revival experience. The twin lead guitar work of Marvin King and his eleven-year-old son Markus Lee are at the center of the band’s overall sound. But the extremely tight rhythm section of Chris Green on bass guitar and Jim Ball on drums pulls it all together into a well-oiled music machine. SATURDAY, MAY 10 11:00am - Ric Singleton 1:00pm - Ric Singleton 3:00pm - Ric Singleton 4:00pm - Joyset Entertainment ANNE HELTON CREATION STATION, presented by BI-LO SATURDAY, MAY 10 |
