24th ANNUAL GREER FAMILY FEST With a rich history of providing family fun for all ages, the annual Greer Family Fest promises to be better than ever this year, the 24th anniversary of the event. Greer is growing, and Greer Family Fest planners have an expanded vision for a spectacular event that reflects the growth Greer is achieving. This year’s event will feature the best of the old and add exciting new activities with the goal of being the Upstate’s favorite family festival. Greer Family Fest has traditionally been held on Mother’s Day weekend, this year on May 9th and 10th. Entertaining activities for all ages will abound at the 2008 Greer Family Fest. Favorites like Creation Station, petting zoo, and live entertainment are on schedule, in addition to new elements designed to add an extra level of enjoyment. Local restaurants will offer a variety of enticing foods for attendees to savor. Local artisans will feature their work at booths interspersed throughout the festival. Greer Family Fest is designed and sponsored by the community for the community. Local businesses and individuals volunteer time, funds, and ideas to create an event where families experience fun activities and enjoy being together with other families from around the Upstate. Last year’s event drew an estimated 20,000 festival-goers, and planners anticipate an even greater response as the event is promoted stronger than ever for 2008. There are many opportunities to get involved in the Greer Family Fest. Sponsorships are available for many of the activities, as well as for entertainment, and a variety of other items. Greer Family Fest is an excellent marketing tool. This event highlights the Greer community, and is a great way to build brand awareness and community influence. When a business becomes a sponsor, it invests not only in the good of the Greer community, but also in its own benefit. A host of volunteers are also needed to work the activities. As a community effort, Greer Family Fest is an exciting event to participate in on every level.
