FFG Extends Main Street Events Contract

Greenville, SC: The Board of Trustees of the St. Francis Fall for Greenville has announced that Main Street Events, Inc. will continue as the exclusive event management company for the annual “Taste of Our Town.” The new agreement, which goes through the 2009 event, will continue a long-standing partnership between the two parties. Terms of the agreement were not made public.

“We are excited about the new extended partnership with Main Street Events to produce our extraordinary festival,” stated Pete Dixon, FFG Board Chairman. “The relationship between Fall for Greenville and Main Street Events is a long-standing one, and has proven to be a winner for both parties. We feel that we have the top event in the region, and that includes the work of the management and staff of our production company.”

The current three-year contract expired at the end of December of 2006, and both entities have been working on a new agreement over the past few months. Greenville Events, Inc. (now MSE) was created to produce Freedom Weekend Aloft in 1983, however the direction of the management company changed over the next several years and in 1991 GEI began exclusive management of Fall for Greenville, which has continued for 16 years. In the early years of the festival, FFG was produced by the Greenville Downtown Partnership and/or the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
