FLUOR PRESENTS “WHEELS FOR MEALS” TO BENEFIT MEALS ON WHEELS OF GREENVILLE

Cycling enthusiasts of all ages are making a difference to help fight loneliness and hunger here in Greenville County by participating in what promises to become one of the most popular cycling events in the Upstate - the inaugural Wheels for Meals presented by Fluor Corporation.

Wheels For Meals will be held April 28th at 8:00 am at the West End Field.  Riders can participate in the Metric Century, 25 Mile Ride or the Family Fun Ride.  Both the Metric Century and 25 Mile Ride follow much of the route used during the US Pro Cycling Championships.   In addition, representatives from Piedmont Orthopedics will be on hand for pre and post-ride clinics. There will also be a Safe Kids Rodeo prior to the Family Fun Ride.

Wheels On Meals and the Fluor Corporation have a long-standing relationship that goes back more than 18 years.  Over 200 Fluor employees and 15 route coordinators volunteer for Meals On Wheels, making Fluor one of the largest corporate volunteer groups supporting the organization.  Fluor employees are also participating as riders in the Wheels for Meals event.

Sponsors of this event include Fluor, Piedmont Orthopedics, Smith Barney, Charter Communications, MedBridge Healthcare, Hincapie Sportswear, Octagon Solutions, Ignite Design Group, Earth Source, GO Magazine and ResMed.

Main Street Events, Inc. has been contracted to manage the infrastructure and related event logistics.  To read more about MSE, please visit www.mainstevents.com
