Greenville Hospital System USA Professional Cycling Championships

GREENVILLE, SC—New Finish for USA Cycling Professional Championships Individual Time Trial Presented by the Cliffs

 
In a move that will allow spectators to enjoy the beautiful scenery at Cliffs Valley and athletes to hammer home, the finish line of this year’s Individual Time Trial, presented by the Cliffs, will sit near the scenic Ben Wright-designed Cliffs Valley golf course. This change in the final kilometer will eliminate the highly technical, 90-degree right hand turn from the course.

* 7:30 p.m: Live preview show from the Peace Center on WYFF 4; spectators free

* 7 a.m.-noon: Palmetto Peloton Project “Stars and Stripes Challenge” public fundraising ride
* 11 a.m.-6 p.m.: Greenville Hospital System 2007 Health and Wellness Expo
* 1-5 p.m.: Road Race

Enjoy the racing action from a prime spot in the VIP Hospitality Village.

On Saturday, head to the start of the Individual Time Trial presented by the Cliffs and fuel up on light breakfast fare, coffee, and juice. Then go to the finish at the Cliffs Valley and get a front row seat on the action that includes a VIP viewing area, closed-circuit TV showing live racing action, high-end appetizer/dinner fare including adult beverages, and VIP parking

WYFF 4, the NBC television affiliate in Greenville, S.C., has partnered with the 2007 Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling Professional Championships to air a special live preview show for viewers and run promotional spots prior to the event. The pre-event broadcast special will be a 30-minute show scheduled to air Friday, August 31 at 7:30 pm, in front of a live audience of event spectators. The format is planned to include interviews with some of the top professional athletes and allow cycling fans to interact with a panel of athletes.

Main Street Events, a (501-c-6) non-profit organization that manages festivals and events to enhance community pride, economic development and tourism, is serving as Event Production and Management support for the 2007 Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling Professional Championships. Main Street Events will work with Medalist Sports in areas of logistical site construction, local marketing and hospitality coordination, as well as support of local public relations efforts.
