24TH FAMILY FEST KICKS OFF SPRING FEVER IN GREER

Greenville, SC:  The Board of Directors for the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce has announced plans for the 24th Annual “GREER FAMILY FEST, presented by Village at Pelham and City of Greer” to be held in Downtown Greer, SC.  The event is scheduled for May 9th and 10th throughout the downtown area.

“The Greer Chamber is very excited to offer a great opportunity for the upstate to visit our city and enjoy a truly family festival”, stated John Kimbrell, Executive Director of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, owners of the annual event.  “Tradition has been a key for the success of the Family Fest, and this year will be no different.  We are expecting to see a lot of familiar faces and some new visitors to the event.  Our member businesses enjoy the chance to show off Greer, and this is a perfect event for us to draw folks to our downtown streets.”

The two-day event features the Anne Helton Creation Station presented by BI-LO, music on the Garfield Main Stage presented by BB&T, and Dick Ploof Community Stage presented by Greer State Bank, BI-LO Kids Zone, BMW Craft Area (featuring 30 craft/art vendors) and plenty of food from eleven (11) food vendors.  A grand fireworks display will start at 9:45pm on Saturday night.  Event times are Friday, May 9th (4-10pm) and Saturday, May 10th (10am-10pm).  A full list of food and craft vendors and entertainment is available on the event website at www.greerfamilyfest.com.

The festival is FREE to the public!  Tickets to purchase food, beverage and children’s rides can be available on site; craft vendors sales are cash transactions.  The event is alcohol-free, and pets, coolers, skateboards and bicycles are not permitted in the event site.
