ST. FRANCIS FALL FOR GREENVILLE SPECIAL EVENTS

Along with all of the food and music covering Main Street during St. Francis Fall for Greenville,
many other special events are popping up throughout the weekend. 
 The following is a schedule of those events, locations and some background information.


2007 COMPETITION WINNERS

FRIDAY, OCT. 12

7:00PM - JALAPENO PEPPER EATING CONTEST (Piazza Bergamo)
*presented by AT&T Real Yellow Pages
If you have an iron stomach, a hankerin' for spicy foods, have no taste buds, or are just a little crazy
then you are the perfect contestant.  This contest is open to the public


PRIZES: 1st Place = $300; 2nd Place = $200; 3rd Place = $100

SATURDAY, OCT. 13

11:00AM - 5:00PM:  ST. FRANCIS "I FEEL GOOD" STATION (W. Washington St.)
*presented by St. Francis Health Systems

“I feel good” is an interactive game that celebrates all that’s good about being out with   your family and friends on a beautiful autumn weekend at St. Francis Fall for Greenville. The St. Francis venue on Washington Street will feature a stage, wide-screen monitor and live shots of young and old alike playing the game “I feel good.” The event is free to the public.

Upon completion of each game, each team member is invited to hydrate with water (supplied by Pepsi) and recharge with some delicious cookies (courtesy of Immaculate Baking Company) and is rewarded onstage by Faith with a medal and their choice (golf, cycling, hula hoop, music, yoga, I feel good). Throughout the day, Faith will make special appearances to meet the crowd and have her photo taken and/or participate in some of the game activities!

12:00PM - 6:00: 15TH ANNUAL WSSL CHILI COOK-OFF (W. Broad St.)
(Public Tasting begins at 3:30PM)
Professionals and novices alike spend the day cooking their special chili recipe hoping to get the  
public to give them a vote later in the day.  Taste tickets are available ot the public for $5.00 at the
ticket sales location at the intersection of Broad and Main Streets.  WSSL morning show radio
personalities Bill Ellis and Beth Bradley join in the festivities with their own "Unique" chili offering.

SUNDAY, OCT. 14

12:30PM - WAITERS RACE (W. Broad St.)

Waiters from participating FFG restaurants will compete against clock the clock in an obstacle course designed to challenge event the most seasoned veterans. This event has as much to do with bragging rights in Greenville as it does the cash rewards.

1:00PM - ICE CARVING COMPETITION (E. McBee Ave.)
*presented by Greenville Technical College and US Food Service

The Ice Carving Competition always draws a big crowd to witness this unique are performed by some of the best creators in the upstate. Strict rules are in place during this two (2) hour competition and you are sure to witness some amazing talent on display.

3:00PM - BARTENDER MIX-OFF (Piazza Bergamo)

Your favorite restaurant bartenders get together to show their knowledge and expertise in a true test of skill and speed. They race against the clock and each other by mixing random drinks, and are tested for accuracy as well as professionalism.
