2007 ST. FRANCIS FALL FOR GREENVILLE VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS The following is the list of Volunteer Organizations that have been approved by the Fall For Greenville Board of Trustees. These organizations will receive revenue from the event based on hours worked during the weekend. In 2006, the 14 Volunteer Organizations (which made for the majority of the 1,600 volunteers needed) received their pro rata share of $25,000 following the event. Boy Scout Troops 260: The Boy Scouts of America is the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Troop 260, chartered out of Devenger Road Presbyterian Church in Taylors, SC; is one of the most active troops in the upstate. We have a very active troop with a history of advancing many of our scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout. Our High Adventure outdoor program for the coming year includes hiking, camping, rock climbing, whitewater rafting and scuba diving. Boy Scout Troop 776: Boy Scouts of America is the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Greenville Humane Society: Dedicated to improving the quality of life and humane treatment of animals. Meals on Wheels enhances the quality of life of homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals, personal contact and related services. Women Build: Affiliated with Habitat for Humanity, this all-women team empowers women to build safe, healthy housing for deserving families. RoundTowners: Founded in 1986, a non-profit service and social organization providing volunteer staffing and management for events that enhance the vitality and viability of Upstate SC. The group develops future leaders for tomorrow by providing full scholarships to Opportunity Greenville. Since 2000 they have raised and donated almost $24,000 in cash to local charities. Operation Bear Hug: Founded in 2003, this organization supports Upstate children in the midst of trauma situations by collecting stuffed animals that law enforcement officers can provide them. To date over 3000 stuffed animals have been donated in Greenville, Spartanburg, Pickens, Anderson and Oconee Counties. Additionally, through its participation in Fall For Greenville, Operation Bear Hug has expanded its outreach to provide stuffed animals to the children of Shriners Children’s Hospital.
